Step Up for Students New World Scholarship Accounts Program
The Step Up for Students New World Scholarship can be used for fees related to tutoring for students who meet certain requirements. Overall, the eligibility for the New World Scholarship Accounts Program aims to provide additional support and educational opportunities for students who may require extra assistance in reading, mathematics, or early literacy skills.
New World Scholarship - Eligible Students:
VPK Students: Students enrolled in Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programs.
Public School Students: Students in kindergarten through grade 5.
Criteria for Eligibility:
Substantial Deficiency: Students must exhibit a significant deficiency in either reading or mathematics.
Dyslexia or Dyscalculia: Students who display characteristics of dyslexia or dyscalculia.
Low Assessment Scores: Students who scored below a Level 3 on the most recent statewide, standardized English Language Arts (ELA) or Mathematics assessment.
VPK Students: Students enrolled in VPK programs must exhibit a substantial deficiency in early literacy skills based on recent progress monitoring results.
Priority for English Language Learners:
English Language Learners (ELLs) enrolled in programs or receiving services designed to meet their instructional needs will be given priority for the scholarship.
